The Frank Duveneck Arts and Cultural Center hosts
“House,” an exhibit of paintings by Kentucky artis (and 2005 NKU graduate) Mike Maydak. The
opening reception takes place on Friday, May 1st from 6:00 pm to 9:00
p.m. as part of the Covington First Friday Gallery Hop.
Mike
Maydak is the creator and illustrator of 1782: The Year of Blood, a
comic book about the pioneer and Native American history of the Ohio
valley region of that year. Mike was a recipient of the Al Smith
Individual Artist Fellowship Award in 2007. He currently resides in
northern reaches of Kentucky where he teaches art, paints and hastily
works on his next graphic novel.
This event is free and open to
the public. The installation will remain on exhibit from May 1st –
29th, 2009. Gallery hours are 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday, 11
am to 3 pm Saturdays.
The Frank Duveneck Arts and Cultural
Center is located at 1232 Greenup Street, Covington, Kentucky. Free
parking is available in the FDACC parking lot and there is ample fee
